Payment and Refund Policy
Last updated: 28 September 2026
Scope of this policy
This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all purchases of access to Course A, the storytelling and newsroom production resource provided by chronicleza. It covers digital subscriptions, one-time course modules, and related training materials focused on editorial planning, report structure, studio presentation, camera setup, and smooth workflows for news and feature content. The policy governs transactions made through the commercial website targeting customers in the United Kingdom.
Prices, currencies, taxes and additional charges
All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling. Value Added Tax at the prevailing UK rate is included where applicable. No hidden fees apply to standard purchases, although currency conversion charges may be levied by your payment provider if you select a non-sterling card. chronicleza reserves the right to adjust prices for new subscriptions, with advance notice provided before any renewal.
Accepted payment methods, authorisation and security
Payments are accepted via major credit and debit cards processed through secure third-party gateways. Authorisation occurs at the time of order placement. All transactions use encrypted connections compliant with UK data protection standards. chronicleza does not store card details on its systems.
Order confirmation and contract formation
Upon successful payment an order confirmation email is sent immediately. The contract between you and chronicleza is formed once payment is authorised and confirmation is issued. Access credentials or download links are provided within minutes for digital content.
Cancellation rights and periods
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you have fourteen days from the date of purchase to cancel without giving a reason. For digital content, cancellation rights end once you begin downloading or streaming the material. Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time to prevent future billing, but pro-rata refunds are subject to the eligibility rules below.
Refund eligibility, exclusions and non-refundable items
Refunds are available for unused digital access within the fourteen-day cooling-off period provided no substantial content has been consumed. Once modules are viewed or downloaded the service is considered fully performed and non-refundable. Promotional or discounted purchases may carry additional restrictions clearly stated at checkout.
Step-by-step procedure to request a refund
To request a refund please email [email protected] with your order number, date of purchase and a brief description of the request. Include any relevant transaction reference. Requests must be submitted from the email address used at purchase.
Inspection, approval, rejection and notification
Requests are reviewed within five working days. You will receive written confirmation of approval or rejection together with the reasons if refused. Additional information may be requested to verify the claim.
Refund method, processing time and receipt of funds
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Processing typically completes within seven to ten working days, although your bank may require additional time to credit the amount. You will be notified once the refund has been processed.
Special rules for digital content, subscriptions and promotional offers
Digital modules are non-returnable after download or streaming begins. Subscription cancellations stop future payments but do not automatically trigger refunds for the current billing period unless the cooling-off period applies. Promotional offers are honoured only for the stated term and are non-refundable once activated.
Failed payments, duplicate charges, chargebacks and suspected fraud
Failed payments must be resolved within seven days to maintain access. Duplicate charges are investigated promptly and corrected where verified. Chargebacks are treated as disputes and may result in account suspension pending resolution. Suspected fraudulent activity leads to immediate account review and possible referral to authorities.
Mandatory consumer rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts Regulations or UK GDPR. If any term is found to be unenforceable the remaining provisions continue to apply.
